  • About Michael Flanagan, PhD, PA-C

MICHAEL FLANAGAN joined Houston Allergy and Asthma Clinic in July 2007, which brought him from the laboratory bench into clinical practice. After graduation, Mike spent 16 years conducting research and publishing scientific papers in the fields of allergy and immunology. In his previous position as Director of Research for Allergenics, Inc., he led a team of scientists developing a novel approach to allergen immunotherapy. As a result of his involvement in clinical trials, Mike found himself being called toward patient care.

Credentials
Doctoral Degree in Immunology, Iowa State University
Master of Science in Medicine, Western Michigan University's Physician Assistant Program

Personal
Mike brings his academic background with him into the exam room where he takes great pleasure in educating patients about how their immune system functions and about the role it plays in regards to their condition. Mike’s wife has a background in Art/Art History and he says that she balances out his “geeky scientist” personality.
